Pirates and Shutdowns

It's tough to blog at a time like this.  I'm sitting here watching a baseball game that actually means something to the city of Pittsburgh and Pirates fans everywhere.  It's the first playoff game in Pittsburgh since 1992!  The Pirates are playing the Cincinnati Reds in the one-game wildcard playoff game.  Through 4 and a half innings, the Bucs are winning 3-1, and have really dominated, having knocked Reds' starter Johnny Cueto out of the game.  I'm having a hard time typing this as I'm watching.  It's the most excited I've been about a baseball game in 21 years.

In addition, today was a sad day as I was furloughed for the the federal government shutdown, the first shutdown for the gov't. since 1995-96.  I spent the day doing....well, nothing, really.  I've just gotten word tonight that I can return to work tomorrow for 4 hours.  Because our products can affect the safety of the National Airspace System, it is important that we be at work to keep things moving.

So that's the story!  Hope you're enjoying the game.  More updates tomorrow.  Have a great evening!
